PRISMATIC MINDS REVIEW | RAW VISION MAGAZINE
Prismatic Minds was an exhibition looking at highly stylized visual languages featuring repeated figures and characters, curated by Jennifer Gilbert (Director of the Jennifer Lauren Gallery) and actor, writer, and co-presenter of art podcast Talk Art Russell Tovey. Bringing together six mainly self-taught international artists, each with intensely personal and imaginative styles, Prismatic Minds presented a new discussion on the act of repetition and the desire to surround oneself with others, real or imagined.
Vivienne Roberts reviewed Prismatic Minds in issue #109 of Raw Vision magazine, stating, “This groundbreaking event immediately caused a sensation on the street when artist Misleidys Francisca Castillo Pedroso's lifesize cut-out figure of a bodybuilder was placed in the gallery window. Its flexed muscles stood proud and commanded attention whilst hinting at the discoveries that awaited visitors inside.” She hoped that more galleries in the area would get on board with art by these artists in the future, saying of the show it was “a resounding success.”
