ARTIST VIDEOS
On this page I will share short videos that have been made about artists that the Jennifer Lauren Gallery represents. Each video is subtitled and a transcript is also available of them. If you click on the four arrows facing outwards on the video, it will make it full screen.
The first video is of Margate based artist Valerie Potter. She explains how she initially got into creating her textile works, the inner need to get her ideas down as soon as she has them and a little explanation about some of the pieces. You can see more of her artwork HERE. This footage was filmed during a collaborative exhibition between Valerie Potter and Carlo Zinelli titled 'Autobiographic' at the Gallery of Everything in London, January 2020. Filmed in 2020 and edited in 2021 by Luca Productions. Funded by Arts Council England. Film length is 3.25 minutes and it is subtitled.
The second video is about London based artist and adult survivor Terence Wilde. He explains why art is so beneficial, not just to his health, but his life in general. Wilde talks about his work, why he creates and the differences between his colour work and his black and white work. Filmed in 2020 and edited in 2021 by Luca Productions. Funded by Arts Council England. Film length is 4.5 minutes and it is subtitled.
The third video is about northern UK based artist Chris Neate. It was filmed on 9 December 2020 at the College of Psychic Studies in London. You can read more about Neate on his artist page HERE. Neate was interviewed by the College Curator and Archivist Vivienne Roberts. In it Neate discusses how his automatic drawing started, any influences from over the years and what it might all be about. This film is eight minutes long and features subtitles. It was filmed by Matt Barton and Nekane Requejo de Ozamiz, edited by Ed Enayat and funded by Arts Council England.
