Terence Wilde was shortlisted for the inaugral Cass Art Prize in 2024. From thousands of entries just fifteen were selected by the judges to be shortlisted and these included: Curtis Holder Artist, Justin Mortimer Artist, Kathleen Soriano Independent Curator & Sky Arts Artist of the Year Judge, Pippy Houldsworth gallery Founder & Owner, Robert Diament Co-Host of podcast Talk Art and Partner at Carl Freedman Gallery, Ryan Stanier Founder of The Other Art Fair and Sinta Tantra Artist. At the opening night, several awards were given out and Terence received the Special Judges Award from Pippy Houldsworth Gallery. At the opening Pippy introduced this by saying,

“During the judging I saw one particular work that moved me a lot and I felt deserved a special mention. It is provactive, idosyncratic, has an amount of humour, but it is incredibly sad, and it was just something about it that made me feel that it needed to be seen and that the artist’s voice needed to be heard more broadly. The prize is an exhibition in the box space, a small project space, at the Gallery, and will be seen as part of the wider programme. Other artists have included Ai Weiwei, Yinka Shonibare and Woody De Othello. This artist has had a traumatic life, but I knew none of this when I chose it… it was chosen purely on its originallty. It’s one of the smallest works, but it spoke to me the loudest.”
