Victor Cristescu
Victor Cristescu was born in Romania in 1959 and led a sheltered life prior to a family move to New York in the 1980’s. He has drawn since he was a young child and always carried pencil and paper with him wherever he went. Cristescu began attending The Pure Vision Arts studio in New York City for artist with developmental disabilities in 2002 where he slowly and meticulously created hundreds of his signature, small, architectural renderings of churches. His body of work reflects a singular interest in using graphite on small pieces of paper to obsessively draw Christian iconography. Cristescu passed away in 2018 but his works lives on in numerous private collections both in the US and Europe.
