James Alison
James Alison’s extraordinary linear style wanders into its own realm, building fantastical places and animals. Alison is a great performer and in his artwork he brings together creatures and characters from the puppetry and drama performances he is in to create magical new worlds. He often draws birds saying, “They are birds of prey. I like to draw them, they are strong and fly fast and they fly high.”
“Art makes me feel more relaxed and more comfortable. I feel very proud and very pleased when someone is buying my work and I would like to sell it to people. I do a lot of art.“
Alison (b.1959) has attended Garvald Edinburgh since 1992 and currently works in the Arts Studio, the Drama Workshop and the Puppetry Workshop. Garvald Edinburgh provides creative services for adults with a Learning Disability.
